EMMC & Romania: An association of classic proportions.

Long ago EMMC recognized the need to preserve the artistry and integrity of handcrafting fine musical instruments. The challenge was to identify a source for consistently superior products. After much searching we identified Romania to be the ideal venue, the locale with the natural and human resources to attain our goal.

Today, the EMMC-Romania association thrives. Our factory in Reghin, Romania employs well over 100 people. We also work with select independent "cottage" luthiers, each with their particular specializations in violins, cellos or basses. This is how EMMC can offer fine master-made instruments at an affordable cost, and enable musicians to reach their own musical potential.

Substantial upgrades were made to the factory to improve production efficiency and to maximize artistry. Western style production protocols and efficiencies were instituted while maintaining Old World craftsmanship techniques. New machinery was installed for the "rough cut" or initial cutting. This enhances and eases the handwork but hardly replaces it.  Instruments are custom manufactured to exacting standards in student and step up models.
